Spouse work permit query

Hi,

I am a permanent resident of India and working in a software company in India. Due to project requirements, I have to travel to South Africa (Johannesburg) on work permit. My wife will accompany me on Dependent visa (Spouse permit).

1. Is it possible for her to get / search a job at Joburg on dependent visa?

2. Will she be allowed to work there?

3. If not, is there any alternate way to it? (Can I convert her dependent visa to work permit?).

P.S. My wife is a post graduate and has done Masters in Computer Science and has teaching experience. Please suggest.

    No, she cannot work on that permit, but she can search for work.

    2. Will she be allowed to work there?
    Not on that permit.

    3. If not, is there any alternate way to it? (Can I convert her dependent visa to work permit?).
    Yes, she can, with a general work permit, but first she will need to get a signed work contract with a company and prove that no South African could do that job.

    If she applies for a job and gets it she can apply for a work permit.
    I hope she gets a job.
