Hello everyone,
I am an American who has been an expat in several countries; and now I am in Mauritius since two days ago. (30.12) I will be here for the next 3 months I think and I want to meet some nice people(preferably female) but (but male also are welcomed to contact me & my hubby)- for friendship (to talk, socialize, and may be for some outings). I wonder if there are French/British/American residing in Mauritius?
Why I am here?
In fact I am accompanying my husband, who is an engineer, and he is here to supervise a project in Mauritius. His work will start on 9 January 2011, so till that date, I wont be idle since he will be with me and we will visit the state together. However, we are both new to the state, so some tips/suggestions of places to visit would be most welcomed ;)
Secondly????
Are there an expat club in Mauritius??? Currently, we are residing in a hotel, but may be on Thursday we will be moving to grand riverere-BeauChamp where the company has booked a villa/house for us. Is the region safe for expats or new comers. Is there a club there... tell me the maximum please. !!!

i am now living in mauritius but i wish i was, i do have a very special friend from there who i met when i used to live in jersey channel islands, Salone met and married a frenchman then moved to france and i have lost touch with them, thats why i am on this location as i am trying to track them down, i love this nationality as they are ever so friendly and you will never get a word in edgeways as they love talking and you will never get tired of listening.
