On January 22, 2023, from 10 AM - 2 PM, join us at #AMERoundup2023 Discovery Day at the Vancouver Convention Centre East.

Discovery Day is free, family-friendly and fun! Let's dig into the minerals and metals beneath our province and learn how minerals in BC are vital ingredients in our everyday lives - and for our future.

Have you ever wondered what's inside your cell phone or computer? What are they made of, and where did the materials come from? Bring the whole family to experience mineral exploration and mining in a hands-on, interactive day of learning with lots of activities, including:

'Stump the Geologist' and other hands-on games with geologists and engineers
Experience ancient fossils, spectacular minerals and billion-year-old rocks
Make the earth shake and measure it on a seismometer
Get spooky with glow-in-the-dark mineral displays
Meet mascots Buddy the Miner Betty the Miner, and the Whitecaps icon, Spike
Tour a real remote mineral exploration camp
Experience Britannia MineVR technology displays
Pan for gold with Yukon Dan
Quiet activities, including toys, colouring, Lego, puzzles and more
Free face painting, balloon bending, and popcorn and cotton candy!
