Guests at GatherNYC are served exquisite live classical music by New York's most celebrated artists, a taste of the spoken word from storytellers who are NYC-based winners of the Moth StorySLAM and other prestigious competitions, and a brief celebration of silence. The entire experience lasts one hour and evokes the community and spiritual nourishment of a religious service - but the religion is music, and all are welcome. This fall GatherNYC's Sunday morning concerts are held at the series' new home at the Museum of Arts and Design in Columbus Circle, in The Theater at MAD, fully restored to its original mid-century design.

On Sunday, October 17, GatherNYC presents composer and virtuoso viola soloist Jessica Meyer in a performance of her chamber music (alongside violinist Miranda Cuckson and cellist Laura Metcalf) and solo works, in which she uses a single simple loop pedal to create a virtuosic orchestral experience with her viola and voice. Jessica will also partner with choreographer and dancer Caroline Fermin to perform selections from "And She," their 21st Century take on Greco-Roman classical drama including music, dance and poetry - updated to reflect the lives women lead today.

With playing that is "fierce and lyrical" and works that are "other-worldly" (The Strad) and "evocative" (New York Times), Jessica Meyer is a GRAMMY-nominated violist and composer whose passionate musicianship radiates accessibility and emotional clarity. Her solo shows have been featured at iconic venues such as BAMcafe, Joe's Pub, and Symphony Space in NYC, the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, in addition to venues in Paris, Singapore, Switzerland, Vietnam, the Emirates, and beyond.
