From 1992 to 2021, four Candyman horror films debuted, inspired by a true incident in African American history. The first film is now a cult classic and the more modern 2021 sequel was highly anticipated. Just in time for Halloween, you can join us in a discussion that explores all four films and the history behind them. Dr. Tani Sanchez, Africana Studies; Annie Sykes, Black Women's Task Force; and Barbara Lewis, the Dunbar Center, lead the discussions.
