Hi, I am Richard. I am planning to do a little round trip in summer next year. I want to go to western Europe, maybe see a little bit of the eastcoast of the US if there's still time. While planning our trip, my friend and I had an argument about where you can find the cheapest flights. I always used to book directly on the website of the airline - my friend thinks booking engines sometimes give you a special offer. Couldn't figure out what is right so far... What is your experience??
thanks a lot

Hello Richard,
i would suggest to use a metasearch engine such Trabber - http://www.trabber.com
As you can compara prices from multiple travel agencies and airline websites simultaneously.
I hope it will help.

Hi Richard,
this actually depends on the airline. At least in Europe, you can get cheaper prices on portals for the upscale airline. For low cost carriers (such as Ryanair), you will never get a cheaper price on another portal.cheap flights

Hi Richard,
I have always found the cheapest rates through the booking engines that your friend was probably talking about, especially if you book early. However, I noticed that even though the rate was great, it is sometimes difficult to make changes to your ticket once you have booked it. Sometimes it may be more convenient to pay a little more but have the ability to make changes if necessary.
Hope this helps!
