I am in Kuwait currently with a visit visa. I am an Indian origin. I would like travel to UAE for some personal work, Is it possible for me to travel directly with a valid abu dhabi visit visa.

As per the rules and regulations of abu dhabi immigration, you can refer this in their immigration rules, if that match, then you can travel to Abu dhabi on your visiting visa.
Emirates Airlines : Visiting visa is valid for only temporary visit of certain duration. If you can complete your work in this time span, it will be good for you.

I think you can. But the best thing you can do is call Emirates Airlines in Kuwait and they will help you out. Dont bother calling the UAE embassy.
