Looking for an apartment in Ny

Hello everyone!
I am thinking about moving to NY, but price of properties there is hillarious. I am trying to do research on more affordable boroughs, according to https://tranio.com/traniopedia/tips/foreign_buyers_guide_to_
residential_property_in_new_york_city/Bronx seems most adequate. What do you think? Can anybody advise me some suitable options for renting?

  Min prices in NY for 1 room appartments - 1500$. And Bronx is not the best place to rent some property right there.
