Assertiveness is a way of communicating effectively when the situation, the context and personalities are perceived to lack a balance of power. It's about addressing that perception through body language, empathy, choice of words, requested feedback and an affinity with resilience

Local mediator, coach & counsellor Isobel Clark has been working in education & training for the past 40 years, mostly with women who want to make progress in their careers and often find obstacles some not of their own making.

Isobel is brilliant - this will be such a useful hour of your life!

Even if you're not up for that:

Meet like-minded women with a passion for comedy, learn how to generate material through improvised comedy, share scripts, sets, jokes and ideas from comedians currently performing on the circuit, and find support as you take those next steps in the world of comedy.

And finally:

SHOWTIME: 8.00pm, FREE!

Funny Women knows that comedy can be scary, so this night provides a platform for women to get on stage and perform comedy for the first time. Even if you're already a regular on the circuit, Time of the Month is a great night to try out new material in front of a warm and supportive audience. And the Alchemy 198 audience is SUPER SUPPORTIVE!
