Russian - easy or difficult???

Hi Daria,
I am a professional Russian teacher and I have a long time experience of teaching Russian to foreigners. I can say the following that Russian is not as easy as English, but it is not that you need 5 years to learn it. It depends on you and on your teacher. If you find your teacher who is able to analyze how you learn languages in general, provide you certain exercises and make them interesting, then you will learn quite fast. I have students (English speaking) who are able to participate in arguments at work when it is too slow to use interpreter and they are able to understand most of Russian conversations. This is after 1-1.5 years of learning. So everyone can learn Russian if he/she wants and has a good help.
